Pain Relief:

Remedial Massage is the best form of soft tissue treatment to get results for problems like muscular tension, chronic pain, or acute soft tissue injuries. Although we use deep pressure, our massages rarely cause an uncomfortable level of pain. If there is a higher likelihood of pain with specific techniques, we consult with you before proceeding.

Rehabilitation:

We use Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretches, Active Myofascial Release Therapy (AMRT), and Trigger Point Release to help you recover from injury and facilitate the return to normal daily tasks. We focus on having a proactive approach to rehabilitation including not only massage but empowering YOU through education and movement.

Massage and its benefit on stress:

Although a lot of what a Remedial Masseuse does is based around the body, there is an appreciable amount of evidence based research that shows the benefit massage has on the mind. Massage can be remedial in the fact it relieves tension, relieves stress and in general, lifts your mood – however it can also alter your perception of pain by taking your body’s attention away from it.

Massage can help interrupt stress inducing patterns, alleviate anxiety and help restore the ability to have a good night’s sleep. Remedial Massage techniques can be used to help activate the parasympathetic nervous system and assist in the release of serotonin and/or endorphins. This initiates the Rest and Restore aspect of your body, rather than the Fight or Flight response.
