Whether you are experiencing pain during pregnancy, suffering from a pelvic disorder, struggling with embarrassing leaks, or training for your first marathon, we provide a safe and understanding environment with an integrated approach to get you back to feeling your wonderfully womanly self!
Let’s talk about Pelvic Floor
So often women tolerate uncomfortable realities where they don’t need to. Pelvic floor challenges affect more than 40% of women. Tell-tale signs include not making to the loo in time, an embarrassing leak after a sneeze or laughing, waking up 15 times a night for a wee, or one of the most common, visiting the ladies’ room almost as frequently as you breathe! Our women’s health physios have trained extensively in Australia, Canada, and America to bring you the very best treatment options available worldwide to get your pelvic floor working the way it was designed.
We have techniques and tricks that are unique to our clinic, like pelvic floor electro-acupuncture (neuromodulation) – an absolute game changer and must-try when you feel you’ve already tried it all. We have the only physiotherapist in Australia to offer this amazing and effective treatment. Neuromodulation is a way of talking to your nerves and muscles in their own language. It’s a highly effective way of making the muscles of the pelvic floor ‘hear’ the message and work better! See our physiotherapy page to learn more about some of the other techniques we use.
Areas we support our ladies with every day:
- Incontinence or lack of control over bladder: leaking from daily activities; laughing, coughing, exercising
- Overactive bladder: frequent visits to the loo and little to no warning feelings
- Childbirth preparation and recovery including abdominal muscle wall separation (diastasis recti): when the stomach muscles separate
- Carpel tunnel syndrome: pain and swelling caused by nerve compression in the wrist (common in pregnancy)
- Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) or symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD: stiffness or uneven movement in pelvic joints (common in pregnancy)
- Pelvic organ prolapse: weakened or damaged muscles and tissues allow the uterus to drop out of its position
- Vaginismus and vulvodynia: pain in any part of the vulva and involuntary pelvic floor contractions
- Pain during sex (dyspareunia): any deep pain felt internally during intercourse
- Bowel dysfunction and constipation: the loss of normal bowel activity
